Exigen Services Holds a Seminar for Lecturers of Belarus IT Universities, Filling Gaps in Practical Knowledge of Agile Practices

San Francisco, CA, April 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On February 24th and 25th, 2011, Exigen Services held a seminar to support the educational initiative of Belarus' High Technologies Park (HTP) for increasing the knowledge and expertise of Belarus University lecturers in the IT sphere. HTP is a nationwide project of infrastructure development for Belarus, to advance the software development industry and to provide a favorable environment for attracting developer resources, R&D and foreign investments.

The two day seminar addressed the practical aspects of Agile software development methodology for enterprise system development projects. The seminar was attended by the teaching staff of leading higher education institutions across Belarus. Comprising part theoretical and part practical application, it informed the audience about the rapidly evolving field of Agile and its significant effect on improving the efficiency of software development processes. In particular, Exigen Services experts focused on Agile-based code generation and team management practices. All of the seminar participants received HTP certificates.

This seminar was the first in a series of educational activities offered by HTP through the new Belorussian-Indian IT Educational Center that will officially open in April 2011. The primary objective of this center is to help improve the qualifications of both IT specialists working for companies that reside in the High Technologies Park and lecturers at relevant technical universities, as well as educating IT managers at corporations.

The four regional branches of the Educational Center are located at the Sukhoi State University of Gomel, Masherov State University of Vitebsk, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Pushkin State University of Brest. The center and its regional branches are equipped with modern computers, including equipment for webcast lectures, videoconferencing and distance learning.

Andrei Ralko, General Manager, Exigen Services Belarus: "The level of education at Belarus IT Universities is quite good and allows students to solve complex technical tasks. But there are still some gaps in important practical topics such as inter-team communications and project management practices. Thus, the main goal of the seminar was to equip lecturers of the universities with the knowledge of the latest advances in project team interaction – one of the most critical factors for successful IT project execution. The instructors from Belarus universities learned a great deal about the actual development methodologies and practices applied to IT projects. During this course, we shared popular learning approaches that the lecturers can apply in their future educational courses. The subject of our seminar also generated a great deal of interest with tutors of leading Belarus universities. In the future we plan to offer an enhanced version of this program."
