Belarus's Lukashenko invited to EU summit in Prague on May 7

MINSK, April 17 (Itar-Tass) -- Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko has received an invitation to attend the European Union's summit in Prague on May 7.

"The president on Friday received Karel Schwarzenberg, the foreign minister of the Czech Republic, whose country is holding the rotating presidency of the European Union. He delivered an invitation to the EU summit in Prague on May 7," Belarussian Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov told the media.

Schwarzenberg confirmed he had delivered the invitation to Lukashenko.

"The president has not confirmed his participation yet. Who will represent Belarus at the summit will be announced later," he said.
