Belarus appreciates Italy's support to promote EU-Eastern Europe cooperation - president
Belarus appreciates the efforts of Italy to facilitate cooperation between the EU and its eastern neighbors, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Belarus Julio Prijoni, BelTA has learnt.
"We are satisfied with the development of Belarus-Italy relations. In particular, we appreciate the active participation of the Italians in the projects to recuperate Belarusian children and their help to mitigate the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster," Alexander Lukashenko said.
The President expressed his interest in the further development of the Belarusian-Italian cooperation in the areas of trade, economy, credit and investment, high-tech, sci-tech and culture. The head of state thanked Italy for its position towards Belarus.
Receiving credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Belarus and Russia on concurrent Nebojsa Koharovic, the Belarusian leader underlined that the two countries have a considerable potential to develop relations in a wide range of fields, in particular in the economic area. In the near future we should fulfill the existing opportunities in full, the President added.
Alexander Lukashenko wished good luck to the countries that are currently looking for their own way of development.
