Ganja automobile factory and Minsk tractor enterprise create a joint venture for Belarus tractor export third states

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Ganja Automobile Factory (GanjAz) keeps on co-operation with Minsk Tractor Plant.

GanjAz quoted Nikolay Patskevich, the Byelorussian ambassador to Azerbaijan, as saying that in the next 3 or 4 months it will be organized an GanjAz/MTP joint venture to make "Belarus" tractors for export to third countries. Stressing that GanjAz technical and staff potential, the ambassador underlined prospects of co-operation between GanjAz and MTP in such wide format.

"Capacity of the Azeri-Byelorussian JV will be 8,000-10,000 a year. Its output will be exported to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and border regions of Russia," Patskevich said.

Production area of 7,000 sq.m. was allotted for the JV at Ganja Automobile Factory.

Currently GanjAz assembles six modifications of "Belarus" tractors.

In 2007 the Factory produced 426 tractors and transferred 377 unites to AqroLizinq JSC as of the contract and realized other tractors via free sale. In 2008 it was planned to increase assemblage volumes up to 600-700 tractors.

In the prospect the enterprise is to manufacture up to 50% of constituent parts for tractors.

GanjAz's capacity allows assembling of 1,500-2,000 MTZ tractors and about 1,000 MAZ trucks a year. The factory does not rule out a probability of MAZ bus assembling.
