Belarus president receives Sayyid Fahd

MUSCAT - President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus received His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, deputy prime minister for the Council of Ministers, at Al Alam Palace Guest House in Muscat, where the president resides.

The president praised the warm welcome extended by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to him and the outcome of the meeting with His Majesty in terms of positive results that will be beneficial for the two friendly peoples. He also hailed the achievements across the country and the vital role of the Sultanate in serving issues of the region and enhancing international understanding.

In his turn, Sayyid Fahd emphasised His Majesty the Sultan's keenness to extend friendship ties to world countries on the basis of mutual confidence.

Sayyid Fahd pointed to the importance of the president's visit in cementing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During the conversation, a number of aspects of cooperation between the two countries that serve joint interests of the two countries were reviewed.

The meeting was attended by Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, minister of commerce and industry; and head of the mission of honour accompanying the Belarus president.

It was also attended by Sergei Martynov, foreign affairs minister of Belarus; and members of the official delegation accompanying the guest president.
