His Majesty, Belarus president hold talks

MUSCAT - His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and President Alexander Luka-shenko of the Republic of Belarus held a session of official talks at Al Alam Palace here yesterday evening.

During the talks, aspects of existing bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries in the light of good relations between them and ways of strengthening them in all spheres in the interest and benefit of the Omani and Belarus friendly peoples were discussed in addition to a number of matters of joint interest at the international arena.

The talks were attended from the Omani side by Sayyid Saud bin Ibrahim Al Busaidi, interior minister; Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, minister responsible for foreign affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Hinai, justice minister; Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, minister of national economy and deputy chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council; Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, minister of commerce and industry; and Dr Rawiyah bint Saud Al Busaidiyah, higher education minister.

It was attended from the Belarus side by Vladimir Naumov, minister of interior; Sergei Martynov, minister of foreign affairs; Anna Deyko, minister of taxes and duties; Anatoli Rusetski, minister of industry; Viktor Golovanov, minister of justice; Nikolai Azamatov, head of the State Military Industry Committee; Vladimir Matyushkov, chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee: Mikhail Pavlov, mayor of Minsk; Alexander Zhuk, first deputy education minister; Vladimir Sulmiski, Belarus ambassador to the UAE and special representative of the Belarus Foreign Ministry; Vasily Strazhev, vice-chancellor of Belarus State University.

After the talks, His Majesty the Sultan bade farewell to the Belarus president, who concluded his visit to the Sultanate yesterday.
