Belarus president due today

MUSCAT - President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko would arrive here today, on a two-day visit at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, said a statement issued by the Diwan of Royal Court yesterday.

His Majesty the Sultan would receive the president and his delegation, the statement added.

During the Belarus delegation's visit, a number of issues of concern to the two countries and the latest developments in the international arena would be discussed.

The visit is expected to open new horizons of cooperation in various spheres between the two countries, the statement said.

The delegation accompanying the president will comprise Minister of Interior Vladimir Naumov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Martynov, Minister of Taxation and Excise Duties Anna Konstantinovna Deiko, Minister of Industry Anatoliy Rusetskiy, Minister of Justice Viktor Golovanov, head of the state Military-Industrial Committee; head of the State Committee for Science and Technology; mayor of the city of Minsk; first deputy of education minister; the Belarusian extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and special representative to the Foreign Ministry; and vice-chancellor of the State University of Belarus.
