Washington, 30.04.2007. (Makfax) - The annual summit of the European Union and United States will take place in Washington on April 30.
The summit will bring together the US President George Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso to discuss the strategic partnership.
The main external relations themes of the EU/Us presidential summits will focus on Kosovo status settlement with supervised independence, and providing "peace and security in the last dictatorship in Europe - Belarus."
The European and the US leaders will also discuss the resumption of the Middle East peace process and stabilization of Lebanon, modalities to thwart Iran's nuclear armament programme, co-operation with Afghanistan and Iraq.
The last EU-US summit took place in Vienna in 2006.
