Iran, Belarus to hold third joint expo in summer

TEHRAN, Apr. 4 (MNA) -- The Third Joint Iran-Belarus Exhibition is to be held in the city of Minsk from June 22 to July 1, 2006. It is the extension of millions-of-dollars export contracts signed between the two countries this year, an official at Iran Chamber of Commerce noted.

"Given the two nations friendly relations, Belarus initiated this year's exhibition to expand cooperation both in industrial and service sectors and we have acquired necessary legal permissions from Iran Trade Promotion Organization to this end," Seyyed Javad Shams-Fard told the Persian service of ISNA on Tuesday.

The previous expos, also held in Minsk, brought to surface potential international marketing and an offshoot of it resulted in negotiations between the IKCO and Belarus side for production of Samand sedans. "Moreover, the active presence of Iranian entrepreneurs allowed us to demonstrate the country's capabilities in various fields," he added.

The 10-day event is going to host the advancements achieved by Iran in technical and engineering services, auto part business, food industries and sanitary wares as well as packaging, ceramic and tile industries plus decorative commodities and furniture.
