Belarus Media on Sidorski in Cuba

Minsk, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) Belarusian media highlighted Thursday repercussions of the recent visit to Cuba by Prime Minister Serguei Sidorski.

The "Republica" official newspaper, with a daily circulation of 122,615 copies, published a front-page article illustrated with President Fidel Castro and Sidorski's photo.

Under the title "Minsk-Havana: Collaboration in all directions," the daily summarizes the signing of important agreements of intergovernmental collaboration and an exchange accord between Belta and Prensa Latina news agencies.

Highlighting Sidorski's statements, the daily also states Belarus' contribution to defeating fascism and its active role at the UN, the Non-Aligned Countries Movement and other international institutions.

Popular media outlets described Sidorski's visit as a way to strengthen bilateral economic and trade ties and said it would lead to "policy based on common interest by both peoples."
