Syria and Belarus Sign a Number of Cooperation Agreement and Memos

DAMASCUS, (SANA)

Syria and Belarus signed Thursday a numbers of cooperation agreements and executive programs in fields of economy, education, culture, standardization and measurements .

Wrapping up deliberations of the Syrian-Belarus Joint Committee for Trade, Economic , Scientific and technical cooperation, Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Hosni Lotfi, Belarus Minister of Economy Nicolai Zaichenko exchanged two cordial words wishing increase of volume of trade and economic exchange between Syria and Belarus.

Earlier, Lotfi and Zaichenko reviewed means of enhancing economic cooperation, increasing volume of commercial exchange as well launching joint investment projects in both countries.

That came during their meeting at Damascus Chamber of Commerce with members of the Syrian-Belarus businessmen council.

They discussed means of holding joint expos, setting up markets for Syrian products in Belarus with the aim of making Belarus businessmen and consumers acquainted with the Syrian goods and making use of the Belarus geographical position for entrance of the Syrian products and goods to the western Europe.

Lotfi underlined necessity of boosting economic cooperation and lifting up ratio of trade exchange as well upgrading the existing economic relation to the level of distinguished political ones.

" The Syrian government is ready to offer all necessary facilities to businessmen to organize joint investment projects and expos, " the Minister said, hailing the important role the private sector in Syria and Belarus is playing.

" All economic indicators are positive and point to the big potentiality that the Syrian economy enjoys, " Lotfi said, stressing necessity of attaining balance in trade exchange by reinvigorating Syrian exports to Belarus.

"This meeting is to review ways of developing and widening the existing relations with Syria particularly the economic cooperation," Zaichenko said for his part.

Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce Rateb al-Shallah emphasized significance of laying down basis for cooperation to contribute in setting up joint expos and projects we well as exchanging delegations and visits

Later, Shallah and deputy chairman of Belarus Chamber of Commerce signed an agreement for cooperation between Syrian and Belarus businessmen.
