Minister claims Yota does not have LTE licence in Belarus

Belarusian alternative operator Yota Bel, subsidiary of Russian WiMAX service provider Yota, will not be able to conduct trials of LTE services in the country as it does not hold the requisite licence, local news agency Tut reports the minister of communications and information Niokolay Panteley as saying. Yota Bel had planned to deploy an LTE network rather than using WiMAX technology in the country. As it stands, only national PTO Beltelecom is offering WiMAX in Belarus, via 22 base stations in the capital Minsk.
