Belarus imposed the temporary ban for exports of rapeseed oil, rapeseeds and flaxseeds

Belarus imposed the temporary for exports of rapeseed oil, rapeseeds and flaxseeds, acting from March 16 till September 16 of the current year, according to the decree of the Council of Ministers #285 dd. March 9.

The temporary ban covers the following list of agricultural products: crushed or uncrushed rapeseed or colza seeds, crude and refined rapeseed or mustard oils, and the fractions, and crushed or uncrushed flax seeds.

The Council of Ministers of Belarus is charged to inform the Committee of the Customs Union in accordance with the established procedure concerning imposition of the export ban, and introduce the proposal to impose the similar measures by other countries-participants of the Customs Union for consideration by the Committee.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, imposition of the measures were caused by the low production volumes of rapeseed last year, and the necessity of possible resowing of winter rapeseed sowing areas after the current wintering period.

The temporary ban for exports of rapeseed oil, rapeseeds and flaxseeds will allow protecting interests of the domestic producers, noted the Ministry.
