Venezuela, Belarus Tighten Socioeconomic Ties The Presidents of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, and Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, are on a visit to Aragua state, where the European nation will help build 5,000 houses.

Belarus has great architectural experience, as it managed to recover from the destruction left by German tanks, during World War II, Chavez stressed Monday after welcoming Lukashenko at the Miraflores Palace.

According to the president, the number of new houses could reach 20,000 in coming years, based on bilateral collaboration.

Apart from the social affair, the two countries encourage strategic relations in such fields as energy, automotor, industry, agriculture, science and technique, and finance.

On Monday, Chavez announced an agreement to provide Belarus with 80,000 barrels of oil daily, and rated it as a door to enter the market in central Europe.

The ever generous Belarus has come to enlarge cooperation deals, including transference of technology, he sustained.

Meanwhile, Lukashenko ratified Minsk's will to support Venezuela's effort to become industrialized and bring forward socioeconomic development.
