Belarus increased mixed fodder production by 8.2%

In January 2010, mixed fodder production volumes in Belarus totaled 253.7 thsd tonnes, an increase of 8.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, declared the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus (Belstat).

In January, organizations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus increased mixed fodder production by 6.6% compared to the same period of 2009, to 230.8 thsd tonnes. According to Belstat information, in January 2010, Belarus produced 1.39 thsd tonnes of feed mixes, up 38.9% compared to January of 2009, 6.6 thsd tonnes of protein-vitamin additions (up 52.4%), 4.17 thsd tonnes of premixes (up 18.8%), 2.85 thsd tonnes of feed microbiologic protein (up 12%). The enterprises of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food produced the major volumes of the products.

As of February 1, 2010, the carry-over stocks of mixed fodder at the storages totaled 28.6% of monthly production level, feed mixes - 17%, protein-vitamin additions - 19.6%, premixes - 40.5%, feed protein - 7.8%.

According to Belstat data, in 2009, the country produced 2.75 mln tonnes of mixed fodder, up 9.3% compared to 2008 period. Production volumes of feed mixes lowered by 33.5% compared to 2008, to the level of 14.1 thsd tonnes, feed protein - by 27.2%, to 14.5 thsd tonnes.

Belarus increased production volumes of protein-vitamin additions by 2.9%, to 86.87 thsd tonnes, premixes - by 14.9%, to 45.6 thsd tonnes.
