Lukashenko urges to diversify relations with Russia

MINSK, March 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday relations will Russia should be diversified once it is impossible to reach transparent and fair trade terms.

"Regrettably, our recent efforts to reach transparent and fair terms for mutual trade with Russia have failed. We should diversify our relations both in economics, politics and diplomacy," Lukashenko told a meeting on the results of his visits to Venezuela and Brazil.

Despite Belarus' efforts to build equal relations within the Union State, the CIS and the EurAsEC, "there has developed a distinct trend to big brother - little brother relations." "The issue should be raised openly. We have forbearingly built and will build our relations with partners. But, regrettably, we have not been much successful," he said and added that "neither Russians, nor Europeans should consider our Latin American efforts and contacts as deviation from the positions we have been holding all the time." Belarussian seek their good luck where they are understood and respected, he noted.
