Belarusian Steel Works concluded pipes shipment contract with Venezuela

Steel Guru: It is reported that Belarusian Steel Works has concluded the contract on oil pipes supplies to Venezuela. The first shipment of 5,600 tonnes is to be provided till May 15.

Venezuela is the second American country, where Belarusian tubular products are supplied. In February the mill fulfilled the contract on the supply of 2,000 tonnes of casing pipes of several gauges to the USA. It is interesting that the consumer company, TEJAS CASING LTD refused to provide the mill inspection, which is necessary in such cases, which shows trust and confidence in high quality of the mill's products.

At the positive results of the use the mill will be able to supply up to 5,000 tonnes of pipes to the US market. Besides, in the Q1 2010 Belarusian Steel Works will supply 1,000 tonnes of special oil and gas pipes to Rosneft for oil wells repair.

From the start of pipe mill at the Belarusian Steel Works in July 2007, 544 tubes and pipes gauges have been produced at the mill. Currently 50% of the products are oil and gas pipes and 35 % are tubes and pipes for machine engineering.

The enterprise marketing department says that the business plan on new oil well tubing is developed today.

Belarusian Steel Works is one of the export-focused enterprises in Belarus. Export amounts 85% of the output volume. The mill's staff is more than 12 thousand people.
