British FM: "Ukraine, Belarus and Azerbaijan should join efforts to ensure EU energy security"

British Foreign Minister David Miliband delivered a lecture on "European Union in present century" at the London economic school, according to Turkish Cihan news agency.

In his speech he mostly spoke of the global crisis, EU energy problems and relations with neighbor states.

"The global crisis demand global response and solution", said Miliband.

He also focused on the tensions in the energy issue between Russia and some EU states. Miliband noted that post-Soviet states, including Ukraine, Belarus and Azerbaijan should join efforts and become leaders in ensuring energy security.

The British FM explained that the aim of this coalition is not confrontation with Russia. It is connected with power sector.
