Kazakhstan offers Belarus to work out joint anti-crisis measures

Belarus and Kazakhstan should elaborate joint measures and approaches to overcome the global financial crisis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Anatoly Smirnov told a press conference dedicated to the Kazakh President's state-of-the-nation address "Through crisis towards renovation and development", BelTA informs.

According to the diplomat, bilateral cooperation is one of the important factors for overcoming the crisis in the economies of the two countries: "Today we have mutual understanding that during this difficult period it is increasingly important to strengthen our trade and economic cooperation," the Ambassador said. Anatoly Smirnov believes it is important that the volume of the deliveries of the Belarusian products to Kazakhstan has not reduced from the beginning of the year. On the whole the recent years have seen a sustainable increase in mutual supplies. The Ambassador stressed that Belarusian goods are in high demand in Kazakhstan.

Anatoly Smirnov said that Belarus and Kazakhstan have been cooperating in other areas as well. In particular, good relations have been established in the cultural field with a regular exchange of Days of Culture. As for tourist contracts, the Ambassador considers the two countries have an untapped potential in this area.
