In 2007 Belarusian government approved project for Roma minority in Belarus
In 2007 Belarusian government approved project for Roma minority in Belarus. Our team was a founder of that idea. And finally we won. Actually I have to emphasize that sometime, on rare occasions, but Belarusian government wont been able to resist to clear and obvious fact. Situation with Roma rights are very alike on there same point in Czech Republic.
I'll dare to make a conclusion that Belarus is a country, and to name Roma situation as catastrophic. Its not much differ from all Eastern Europe countries but due to political conditions, which influencing on all society, our work is exceeding hard. In other countries Roma activity has encouraged from local government. In Belarus everything were forbidden and still have forbidden, and would be forbidden. Its forbidden to live as you want, think as you want, forbidden to breath as you want. To laud existing regime is permitted. Different political fakes like, for instants, Milinkevich are permitted. Concerning minorities' activity, it's more that fatal sin.
Actually, neither Belarusian government not yet accounted that project officially, nor Roma and Sinti contact point, who is a acting part in that project. Belarusian Roma feel lack of information. I would like to express deep gratitude's to Mr. Nicolae Gheorghe, former chairman of CPRS/ODIHR, who made a great contribution in order to that project in Belarus would came truth. Its was not easy road but we were overcome.
Committee of religions and nationalities do not have experience in Roma activity. So, if somebody would be so kind to send any propositions, all are welcome. Any ideas or propositions would be sent to Vice-chairman of Committee on Religions and Nationalities affairs
