Iran, Belarus praise mutual ties

Iran's foreign minister and his Belarusian counterpart have exchanged greetings, marking 15 years since the establishment of ties.

In a message to his Iranian counterpart, Manouchehr Mottaki, Sergey Martynov praised the strong ties between Iran and Belarus, which he maintained are based on friendship and mutual respect.

The message said joint investment and coopration in energy, industry and other sectors would provide further impetus for the expansion of ties with a view to the establishment of peace and security across the world.

In his message, Mottaki noted that Iran-Belarus relations have drastically improved in several areas over the past few years.

"High-level meetings and the signing and implementation of numerous agreements, in particular, the 'Partnership and Cooperation Agreement' indicate both countries' determination to boost political, economic, cultural and industrial cooperation," the message read.

Iran and Belarus have recently advanced cooperation, especially in oil and gas sectors.
