Iran-Belarus FMs underline expansion of mutual ties

Iran and Belarus foreign ministers by exchanging messages felicitated the 15th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

According to the Belarussian Foreign Ministry Media Department's report on Wednesday, Sergei Martynov in a message to his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki referred to the excellent level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries upon friendship, respect and mutual confidence.

He said, "Cooperation in the fields of investment, energy, industry and other fields accelerate expansion of ties between Iran and Belarus and strengthen peace and international security."

Mottaki in his message said, "Relations between the two countries in different fields have progressed noticeably."

Iran's foreign minister said, "Visits in the highest level, signing and executing several agreements indicate both countries' intention on expansion of cooperation in different fields." Iran and Belarus ties have expanded largely in the recent years.

In the year 2007, commercial and economic exchange level reached almost 76 million dollars. --IRNA
