Belarus to hold anti-terrorist drill in August - September

MINSK. March 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Belarus will hold anti-terrorist exercises, Bastion 2008, in August - September, deputy head of the State Security Committee's Anti-Terrorist Center Vyacheslav Linenko told the media.

He said the exercises would involve the State Security Committee, as well as specialized units of the Interior Ministry, the Interior Ministry Forces, the State Border Committee, the Emergency Situations Ministry and the Defense Ministry and take place at a training range of the Defense Ministry. Representatives of international organizations and foreign military attaches have been invited to watch the drill, he said.

"The exercises aim to train the prevention of terrorist acts on the republican territory," Linenko said.
