Nikolay Paskevich: Belarus tractors will be assembled in Ganja automobile plant this month

"Spare parts have been brought for assembling Belarus tractors in Ganja Automobile plant. We consider that first tractors will be assembled in March and automobiles "MAZ" in April," Belarus ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolay Paskevich told the APA.

The agreement on assembling Belarus tractors and automobiles on the base of Ganja Automobile plant was concluded during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Belarus.

The ambassador said that the implementation of the project has already started. Commenting on the capacity of the plant Paskevich said that it can meet the needs in this sphere.

The diplomat noted that 500-600 tractors and several automobiles can be assembled this year.

"Extreme hurriedness may turn out ineffective. Specialists should be trained and the working system should be tested," he said.

The ambassador considers that the name of the tractor should reflect the country it was assembled.

Paskevich thinks that Ganja Automobile Plant should take into consideration not only the needs of Azerbaijan but also of neighboring countries.

"If there are excellent production opportunities there is no need to bring tractors from Belarus. Tractors can be assembled here and provide the needs of the neighboring markets," he said. /APA/
