Belarus Interior Minister Says Police Actions were "Adequate"

Minsk. Belarusian Interior Minister Vladimir Naumov said the law enforcement bodies' actions aimed at providing order during the opposition rally were "adequate", the online edition of The Echo of Moscow Radio reported.

Mr. Naumov said at a briefing that during the rally Alexander Kozulin, a leader of opposition forces detained today after a clash between the police and opposition, had called on people to overthrow power and kill the president.
