Belarus, Iran producing 15,000 bbl of oil at Jofeir oilfield a day

The Belarus-Iran joint oil production at Iran's Jofeir oilfield makes 15,000 barrels a day, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini told a press conference on 10 February, BelTA has learnt.

The diplomat noted that Belarus has already started producing oil as stipulated in the first stage of the first phase of the project. "Now we are considering the launch of the second phase, then about 30,000 barrels will be produced," Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini said. In his words, this oil is sold via a trading network of the Iranian trading house affiliated with the Iranian oil and gas company.

The Ambassador stated that Iran is ready to provide new oilfields for Belarus if necessary.
