Lukashenko may wait until his "Egypt"
President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek welcomed the decision of the Foreign Affairs Council concerning introducing of sanctions against high officials of Belarus.
It is said in his comment passed to UNIAN.
"These sanctions are applied only to those who undermined key democratic values", said J. Buzek.
The President of the European Parliament stressed that the European Union remains with the Byelorussian society and Byelorussian people. According to his words, the decision to increase aid to civil society of Belarus and an intention to simplify visa regime for citizens of the country indicate this.
The President of the European Parliament underlined that the EU called upon the authorities of Belarus again to release all those detained during the presidential election and after it for political reasons.
