Technopromexport to buy equipment for Belarus hydropower plant from Mavel

MOSCOW, Russia 2/3/11 (PennWell) --

Russian engineering company Technopromexport has signed a contract to buy equipment for the construction of the 22-MW Polotsk hydropower plant in Belarus from Czech firm Mavel, Technopromexport's press office said.

Under the contract, Mavel is expected to supply five hydraulic turbines for the power plant's construction. The value of the contract and timeline for the supplies were not provided.

In January 2010, Technopromexport signed a contract worth approximately USD100 million to build the Polotsk hydropower plant on the Western Dvina River in Belarus.

Construction of the plant is expected to take 48 months.
