Belarus-Russia United Regional Air Defence System creation needs $20bn

Belarus and Russia need $20 billion to set up the United Regional Air Defence System, State Secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodin told a press conference in Moscow on February 5, reported Belta.

The agreement on setting up the United Regional Air Defence System was inked during the session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State on February 3. "The system is expensive, and we needed time to prepare the agreement," Pavel Borodin said. The two countries need the system despite its high cost and the present-day geopolitical situation, he added.

According to Pavel Borodin, the defense bodies of Belarus and Russia have been commissioned to develop a concrete programme on the United Air Defence System creation for the next session of the Supreme State Council.
