Ericsson NT wins new contracts in Russia, Belarus, Georgia

Telecom equipment manufacturer Ericsson Nikola Tesla (www.ericsson.com/hr)

has announced new deals in the markets of the Russian Federation, Belarus and Georgia worth 1.5 million euros, mainly with its traditional clients such as Beltelekom in Minsk.

In Belarus, the deal concerns upgrades to the Minsk infrastructure for fixed telephony, while a deal with Moscow-based Megafon envisages installing equipment for networks in Samara, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Habarovsk. In George, Ericsson NT's key client is Magticom.

"The new contracts confirm our stable position in the eastern markets,'' said Josip Jakovic, the vice-chairman of Ericsson NT, adding that an ``active partnership for state-of-the-art technologies will enable an even higher level of services for our clients and their customers.''
