Iran, Belarus ink MOU

TEHRAN - Iran and Belarus signed an MOU on trade and customs cooperation in Minsk on Monday.

IRNA reported on Tuesday that Iranian Commerce Minister Masoud Mirkazemi and Belarusian Industry Minister Anatoliy Rusetsky signed the MOU.

Mirkazemi also discussed issues of mutual interest with Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky in a separate meeting.

The sides talked about the banking and monetary system, the issues related to car tariffs, and the establishment of joint companies to take part in international tenders.

Mirkazemi paid a visit to "Capital Trade Bank", a joint venture of Iran and Belarus, and to MAZ factory that produces heavy and semi-heavy vehicles, as well as to the factory that manufactures Iranian-made Samand sedans.

The sides also signed a deal for the establishment of a trade center in Minsk and a contract for the export of nuts and dried fruits.

In his trip to Belarus the Commerce Minister is accompanied by 70 Iranian businessmen from the private sector
