Belarus: Accusations Of Polish Espionage
In a documentary aired on Belarusian state television, a Belarusian counterintelligence officer form the Committee for State Security (KGB) accused Polish spies under diplomatic cover at the Polish Embassy in Minsk of funding and supporting nongovernmental organizations, Belarusian news agency BelaPan reported Feb. 8. Belarusian KGB representative Valeriy Nadtochaev said all Western spies are united in their goal of collecting information on "so-called" human rights violations. The Polish Embassy's press secretary said the accusations in the documentary are connected with the country's March 19 presidential elections.
