In 2010, Belarus decreased grain production by 17.8%
In 2010, the general grain production in Belarus totaled 7 mln tonnes in clean weight, a decrease of 17.8% compared to 2009, declared the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus (Belstat).
Agrarians of the country produced 45.8 thsd tonnes of flax-fibre, down 2.4%.
The fall of yield indices caused the corresponding decrease of grains and leguminous plants production volumes. In 2010, the average grain yield totaled 27.7 c/ha, as opposed to 33.3 c/ha in 2009.
Agricultural enterprises of all categories did not fulfill the state program of grains and leguminous plants production in complete volume - 69.9% of the forecast.
