Belarusian president's inauguration to take place Friday

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, re-elected for the fourth term late last year, will take his oath of office on Friday, his press service said in a statement on Wednesday.

The ceremony will be held in the country's main concert hall, Palace of the Republic, and will be broadcast live by all Belarusian TV channels. It will begin at 1:50 p.m. Moscow time [10:50 GMT].

Lukashenko, who has ruled Belarus with an iron rod since 1994 and has been dubbed by the United States "Europe's last dictator," gained a landslide victory in the polls with 79.67 percent of the vote.
