Ukraine to Deliver to Belarus 4 Million Tons of Oil per Year
Belarus and Ukraine on Monday signed an agreement on transit of four million tons of Venezuelan oil per year through the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline from the port of Odessa to the Mozyr Oil Refinery.
The agreement is for two years and can be renewed if the two sides agree to.
According to Deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Kiryushin, the agreement will not affect the interests of Russia on oil transit through Ukraine to Europe.
The implementation of the contract will contribute to the economic potential of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus, and strengthen energy security in the region as a whole, he said.
In Nov. 2010 the trial consignment of Venezuelan oil in the amount of 80,000 tons was pumped through the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline, said kiryushin.
