Belarus to share experience in ecotourism with Turkmenistan

Belarus is willing to share its experience in the organization of rural tourism with Turkmenistan, BelTA news agency reported citing the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Belarus.

Prospects of cooperation in the field of tourism between the two countries were discussed during the meeting of Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus Oleg Kachan with Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sport and Tourism Kurbanmamed Elyasov. The Turkmen side has expressed readiness to offer Belarusian tourists medical-recreational services on the coast of the Caspian Sea, while Belarus offered to provide assistance in organizing agro-ecotourism, the report said.

It is also noted that not recently Turkmen specialists underwent training in Belarus. The project, supported by the United Nations, lasted a week and included a visit to the most popular sites of the Belarusian agricultural ecotourism. "We showed them our green routes, and exemplary rural estates, conducted trainings, which explained in detail how to arrange the house and develop Eco-routes," the chairman of the Belarusian public association "Rest in the village", Valeria Klitsunova, said.

According to her, Turkmenistan has huge potential for development of agricultural ecotourism, because favorable climate, eastern flavor and local traditions are conducive to attracting tourists. "For example, many travelers would agree to sleep in a real yurta, the expert said. But you must have knowledge and experience in the field of rural tourism to make it happen."
