Turkmenistan and Belarus sign cooperation agreements

A major set of bilateral documents was signed during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Minsk. The heads of two states, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Alexander Lukashenko signed a joint Belarusian-Turkmen Communique and Agreement on trade and economic cooperation in the sphere of supplies of Belarusian agricultural equipment, cars and urban transportation vehicles.

In addition, the two governments signed agreements on the Turkmen-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, and on mutual recognition of education certificates, scientific degrees and titles. Trade ministers from the two countries signed an agreement on the establishment of trading houses in Turkmenistan and Belarus. The Chamber of Commerce of Turkmenistan and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce signed a cooperation agreement.

Cooperation agreements were also signed by the Turkmen Polytechnic University and the Belarusian National Technical University, and by the Turkmen Agricultural University and the Belarusian State Academy.

It should be recalled that on the eve of the visit there was also reached a framework agreement between the State Concern "Turkmenhimiya" and the Belarusian JSC "Belgorkhimprom" to carry out works on exploration and development of the Karabil deposit of potassium salts in Lebap province.
