Belarus to change import sunflower meal with own rapeseed

Last year, Belarus produced 750 thsd tonnes of rapeseed as opposed to 600 thsd tonnes in the previous year. The country plans to produce 1 mln tonnes of rapeseed, declared Semen Shapiro, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus.

According to the Minister, the country sowed rapeseed throughout 410 thsd ha, which exceeded the previous year level. Belarus plans to increase production volumes of rapeseed oil and cake.

According to S.Shapiro, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus plans to change sunflower meal, imported from Ukraine and Russia, with rapeseed in the future. Such operation will also reduce the volume of imported soybean meal. Belarus will change the main imported oilseed by products volumes with rapeseed cake volumes, produced in Belarus.
