GB keen to purchase Belarus' frozen food

British company Rectory Foods Ltd is interested in purchasing Belarus' frozen food, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belgospishcheprom Concern.

Rectory Foods Ltd representatives paid a business visit to Belarus on 17-22 January. A memorandum of intentions on the joint activity was signed between Belgospishcheprom and Rectory Foods Ltd. The two sides considered possible volumes and conditions for the frozen food supplies in 2010, discussed an opportunity to develop a concept for long-term trade relations.

The English delegation received detailed information on the production of frozen vegetables, fruit, berries and mushrooms in Belarus. According to Charles Woolley, Rectory Foods Ltd Managing Director, the company is interested in developing cooperation with the Belarusian companies on possible supplies of the Belarusian frozen food to the market of Great Britain and other European countries. The guests showed particular interest in wild berries (bilberries, wild strawberries), onion and green pea. The English delegation praised a wide assortment and high quality of products.

Representatives of the British company also visited other Belarus' largest companies producing frozen food: Brilevo, Moka, Vega. British businessmen held negotiations with the Belcoopsoyuz consumer cooperation association.

Established in 1996 Rectory Foods Ltd is a large supplier of fresh and frozen vegetable and animal products in Europe.
