Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan. 23/ Trend News, N. Kirtskhalia/ The Georgian MPs urge Belarus to get freed from Russia pressure and blackmail. The statement was made by the leader of parliamentary majority Petre Tsikarishvili as soon as it became known that Belarusian parliament intends to consider recognition of break-away Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The Belarusian parliament plans to consider the recognition on April 2. Moscow urged Minsk to recognize break-away regions on numerous occasions. Minsk avoided this issue and announced that it will consider the request once Abkhazian and South Ossetia leaders appeal them.
"Belarus is under Russia's pressure and blackmail. If Minsk seeks integration to world community and dissemination of Western values, it needs to avoid this move," Tsikarishvili said to reporters.
