The Belarusian Helsinki Committee considers the fact "a refusal in court protection and the violation of article 60 of the Constitution of Belarus that guarantees protection of rights and freedom for every citizen by a competent, unbiased and independent court." The court's refusal to consider the case "proves the arguments given in the suit concerning political beliefs discrimination in the state institutions," the BHC deem.

Y.Aleinik and the BHC announced their intention to address the panel of judges on civil cases of Minsk municipal court and to apply to the UN Committee on human rights "in view of the absence of effective tools of legal protection in the country," reports BelaPAN.

Y.Aleinik, expelled from the 4th year of the President's Academy of Management, declared to the court on June 4. The order on expulsion contains the following reasons: "repeated violations of the academic discipline and the inner regulations." Nevertheless, Y.Aleinik believes his public activity is the actual reason for the expulsion: he is a member of the public organization "Association of the Belarusian Language" ("Tavarystva bielaruskay Movy") and a partner of the Belarusian association of journalists. In April-May 2007Y.Aleinik collected signatures against the abolition of social benefits for students.
