Azerbaijani Emergencies Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov visiting Belarus meets country's Prime Minister and Emergencies Minister

The delegation headed by Azerbaijani Emergencies Minister, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov visiting Belarus at the invitation of Emergencies Minister Anvar Bariyev from January 17 held several meetings, Azerbaijani Emergencies Ministry's Public Affairs Department told APA.

The Emergencies Ministers underlined that bilateral relations between the two countries develop successfully and said effective use of current opportunities is important for strengthening the cooperation.

Kamaladdin Heydarov gave information about the activities carried out for conformation of Azerbaijan's Emergencies Ministry to the international standards and touched on the aspects of extending mutual cooperation.

Anvar Bariyev expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with his Azerbaijani counterpart and said the Emergencies Ministries of the two countries should not only warn the people about dangers, but also prevent their aftereffects in time.

Kamaladdin Heydarov also met Prime Minister of Belarus Sergey Sidorsky in the framework of his visit. Sidorsky said there are great prospects for the development of Azerbaijan-Belarus relations on all levels and underlined that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's official visit to Belarus in October, 2006 played an important role in the expansion of the bilateral relations. The Prime Minister took interest in the activity of the newly-established Azerbaijani Emergencies Ministry and said that the action plan on cooperation in 2007-2010 signed between the relevant bodies of the two countries in March, last year is very promising.

Mr. Heydarov expressing his confidence that this visit will positively impact dynamic development of Azerbaijan-Belarus relations stressed that concrete results have already been achieved on the expansion of bilateral relations after official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Belarus.

Mr. Heydarov also gave thorough information about the activity directions of the Ministry he chairs and spoke about positive influence of the joint activity of the relevant bodies of the two countries against emergency situations. He said

that they used experience of Belarusian counterpart in the formation of the Ministry. Minister also said that development of cooperation between the relevant structures of the two countries will be continued and partnership in this direction will be efficient for the two organizations.

Following this, Mr. Heydarov and members of delegation visited Command and Engineering Institute of the Belarusian Emergency Ministry and were informed about the foundation of the educational enterprise, directions of activity, taken measures. Parade was organized after familiarizing with material technical base of the Institute. Mr. Heydarov observing Belarusian counterparts' rescue operations, measures taken in fire safety met with Azerbaijani cadets studying at the Institute, and give his recommendations for their professionalism. The delegation followed process of work of the organization at Belarusian Emergency Ministry, get acquainted with the activity of Qualifying Institute.

Azerbaijani delegation will participate in the inauguration of Azerbaijani cadets in Command and Engineering Institute of the Belarusian Emergency Ministry on January 19. The visit will end on January 19. /APA/
