Belarus opposition member fined for illegal border crossing

MINSK, January 26 (Itar-Tass) - Belarus' former presidential candidate from the Opposition Alexander Milinkevich has been fined 2,170 U.S. dollars for illegal crossing the state border, the ex-candidate's press service said on Friday.

The October district court in Minsk pronounced this judgement.

Last November Milinkevich visited the NATO summit in Riga, Latvia. At the airport's passport control he showed the passport of his son Alexander.

This violation was exposed on his return visit to Belarus.
