Tehran-Minsk ties enjoy full trust: Ahmadinejad

TEHRAN, Jan. 22 (MNA) -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that Iran and Belarus, as two independent states, enjoy important strategic positions in the Middle East and Europe and that the power of these two countries would benefit them.

Ahmadinejad told the visiting Belarusian Defense Minister Leonid Maltsev that Tehran and Minsk share common views on regional and international issues.

"Iran welcomes and supports development of ties with Belarus in all areas," the president underlined.

"In the light of their current abundant potentials, Iran and Belarus can complement each other in different areas," the president explained.

Iranian president stated that the Iran-Belarus relations are "filled with trust" and called for speedy implementation of the agreements signed between the two countries.

Leonid Maltsev also praised Iran's great achievements in different fields and called for expanded ties with Iran in different areas.
