Belarusian Radio Boosts International Broadcasting

The Belarus radio station, an international radio broadcaster which is part of the Belarusian National Broadcasting Company, has boosted its broadcasts to 19 hours a day, the Belarusian news agency Belapan reported on 18 January, quoting the director of the station's foreign broadcasts department, Navum Halpyarovich.

Live Internet broadcasts by the radio station account for 10 hours of its airtime, while broadcasts in Belarusian, Russian, English, German and Polish total nine hours a day, the news agency added.

The station's work is aimed at familiarizing foreigners with Belarusian politics, economy, history and culture, Belapan said.
