EU sends message to Russia, Belarus re oil supply breaks

LONDON, January 12 (Itar-Tass) - The European Commission has sent a message to the Russian and Belarussian authorities analysing breaks in oil supplies via the Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline, EU energy commissioner Andris Pielbalgs said on Friday.

This message contains EU's demands that Minsk should ensure a guaranteed transit of Russian oil via Belarus, the well-informed sources said.

The document was prepared with participation of EU president - Germany.

Pielbalgs said the EU will not lodge financial claims to Russia and Belarus over breaks in oil exports.

He did not rule out that some oil refineries of the EU may file claims to courts to prove they suffered financial losses during a temporary break in the Druzhba pipeline's operation.
