Main obstacle to Russia-Belarus talks lifted - official

MOSCOW, January 10 (Itar-Tass) -- The main obstacle at oil negotiations between Russia and Belarus has been lifted, Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Andrei Sharonov said on Wednesday.

"Preparations for talks are underway. Negotiations may begin tonight," he said, adding that the two parties were in the process of forming an agenda.

He speculated that "Belarus will raise the question of export taxes on crude it imports from Russia."
