Putin, Lukashenko discuss oil transit over telephone

MOSCOW, January 10 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarussian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko held a telephone conversation at the request of the Belarussian side on Wednesday.

"Economic cooperation between Russia and Belarus was discussed, including that in the energy sphere, such as problems related to the transit of Russian crude oil through Belarus," the Kremlin press-service said.

Itar-Tass Minsk correspondent Larisa Klyuchnikova reports the Belarussian presidential press-service has said the Russian and Belarussian presidents had agreed to instruct the prime ministers of the two countries to formulate by Friday specific proposals as to how to address all controversies and to present them for consideration.
