Crude oil cutoff jeopardizes Union State with Belarus

RBC, 09.01.2007, Moscow 14:27:31.The situation with Russian oil transit via Belarus is doing nothing to help the progress of the establishment of the Union State, State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov told journalists following a Duma Council meeting today. "We expect that decisions will be made to provide a way out of the situation," he stressed. According to the Speaker, at today's Duma Council meeting deputies requested that a government representative provide a comprehensive report on the progress of talks on this issue. Gryzlov also reiterated that a 'government hour' meeting would be held in the State Duma on January 17, 2006 with the participation of Economy Minister German Gref, where these issues could be addressed.
