Ukraine to Benefit from the Russian-Belarusian War?

translated by Irena Yakovina ,

The level of transit oil channeled via Ukraine may increase because of disuse of the Belarusian pipeline Druzhba.

It followed from a Dykusarov's interview with UNIAN news agency. Mr.Dykusarov is the Advisor of the Ukrtransnafta CEO. He made comments on termination of Russian oil to Poland and Germany via Druzhba pipeline.

"I can only confirm the information on increasing Russian oil transit via Ukraine up to 9 million tons per year following the agreement between Ukrtransnafta, Transnafta and TNK-BP," Mr.Dykusarov reveals.

Moreover, the Ukrainian and Russian sides are negotiating about increasing oil transit volumes up to 12 million tons regardless of the clash with Belarus.

As was reported earlier, the Russian Federation terminated oil transit to Poland and Germany via Druzhba pipeline on the night from 7 to 8 January, 2007. The agreement, concluded by Ukrainian Ukrtransnafta, Russian Transnafta and international company TNK-BP stipulates that oil is to be channeled via Ukrainian Odesa-Brody pipeline until 2010.
